Happy St. Patrick's Day, My Favorite Day of the Year

Top of the morning to you!  Have a Happy St. Patrick's Day -- my favorite day of the year.  These are scenes in Chicago along the river front (Wacker Drive).  You can find out why they dye the river green in Chicago here.

Take Globalization to the Little Guy to the Market

©iStock/Marcoscisetti
Demand for small businesses in the e-commerce sector has been growing.
“We believe we have to develop a product or suite of products that allows us to take globalization for the little guy to the market,” said Kushniruk [executive vice president of business development at Avalara]. “When these customers are selling across borders or across countries, they really have to worry about shipping it, with landed cost, duties, excise, and tax. They need to collect the right VAT or sales tax and most importantly pay the tax.”
Expanding internationally can be challenging.  Get your ducks in a row and be sure to consult with experts in the field who can guide you on taxation issues country by country.

My absolute favorite day of the year -- St. Patrick's Day in Chicago -- when the Chicago River is dyed green and local folks put on a fabulous parade.

As the late Stephen Bailey has said:
... the road from Chicago to Ireland is marked in green. From the Chicago River to the Illinois River, then to the Mississippi, up the Gulf Stream and across the Atlantic you can see the beautiful green enter the Irish Sea, clearly marking the way from Chicago to Ireland.
Have a Happy St. Patrick's Day!  Wishing you all the joy your heart can hold.  Related posts here.

St. Patrick's Day is my favorite day of the year (see past posts here). Above are pictures from the Chicago's St. Patrick's celebration Saturday, March 15th when the Chicago river is dyed green as part of the festivities.  If you look closely at the top photo, you can see the dye absorbing into the water.

Have a great day and remember, everyone is Irish on St. Patty's Day! All it takes is a wear'n of a bit of green, a smile and a twinkle in the eye.

Have Yourself the Sweetest St. Patty's Day Ever

©Laurel Delaney 2012, "St. Patty's Day Cookies"
My favorite day of the year:  St. Patrick's Day.  Even if you are not Irish, pretend you are.  No one will know the difference and you will be all the more happy for the stretch!  Wish I could say I made these sweets.  Didn't.  Photographed them though.

Enjoy and Happy St. Patrick's Day!

My Favorite Time: St. Patrick's Day

An Irish Blessing
May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of his hand.

May God be with you and bless you:
May you see your children's children.
May you be poor in misfortune,
Rich in blessings.
May you know nothing but happiness
From this day forward.

May the road rise up to meet you
May the wind be always at your back
May the warm rays of sun fall upon your home
And may the hand of a friend always be near.

May green be the grass you walk on,
May blue be the skies above you,
May pure be the joys that surround you,
May true be the hearts that love you.

Everyone the world over is Irish on St. Patty's Day!  Have a happy one.  This one's for you dear Dad, Thomas S. Delaney (God rest his soul January 8, 2011).

Today is a Day When Everyone in the World is Irish or Wishes They Were!

iStock/Thinkstock
Happy St. Patrick's Day -- my favorite day of the year! We'll start with a little bit of history and add an Irish Blessing:

May flowers always line your path and sunshine light your day.
May songbirds serenade you every step along the way.
May a rainbow run beside you in a sky that's always blue.
And may happiness fill your heart each day your whole life through.

And let's end on a light note: When Irish Eyes Are Shining (turn volume down first -- lyrics here). More songs here.

Past posts on this day ... one more here. Enjoy the day.

Top Of The Morning To Everyone Worldwide

iStock/Thinkstock
This is one of my favorite days of the year (my Dad is Irish -- from Ballyhaunis, County Mayo, Ireland -- and my Mom is Dutch/Swedish). The first thing I did this morning was to call my parents and wish my Dad his best day ever (85 years young and he said he was wearing the "Kiss Me I'm Irish" cap I gave him over the weekend; my Mom has her work cut out for her!).

Celebrate your global entrepreneurial and fighting-Irish spirit with the following Irish blessing:

May all the days
of the rest of your life
be the very best
of your life.

Enjoy and Happy St. Patrick's Day!

And Twitter me at http://twitter.com/laureldelaney to let me know how you are celebrating.
