Anthropic Co-Founder and CEO Dario Amodei: We Must Pace the Frontier

On Saturday, September 12, 2026, Anthropic co-founder and CEO Dario Amodei published a major 3,800-word essay titled "We Must Pace the Frontier." In the post, he explicitly called for the artificial intelligence (AI)  industry to deliberately slow down the pace of improving AI model capabilities so that safety measures have time to catch up.
