Global Business That Operates On a Local Scale

©iStock/AlizadaStudios
The Coca-Cola Company claims they are a global business that operates on a local scale, in every community where they do business.

How do they do it?

We are able to create global reach with a local focus because of the strength of the Coca‑Cola supply chain, which comprises our company and our bottling partners worldwide.

What Do You Do When There Is a Massive Movement That Says #BoycottXXXXX? (Fill In Your Company Name)

McDonald’s and Coca-Cola are closing their Russian operations.  McDonald’s CEO Chris Kempczinski sent a note to staff yesterday afternoon (3/8/22) saying, “Our values mean we cannot ignore the needless suffering unfolding in Ukraine.”

Is it really about McDonald's values?

#BoycottMcDonalds had become a trending Twitter topic, and the Golden Arches ultimately decided to fold.  Kempczinski said the company will continue to pay its Russian employees.

When a company decides to pull out of a country is it because revenues are imploding?  People are suffering?  Customers are boycotting your brand?  Or, just no other choice than to get out?

"Coca-Cola is the only business in the world where no matter which country or town or village you are in, if someone asks what do you do, and you say you work for Coca-Cola, you never have to answer the question, 'What is that?'" -- Muhtar Kent

Stay in Your Circle of Competence

Time to take a break and offer an interesting video with Warren Buffet: Why Coca-Cola is a Great Business.  He talks about how all companies should stay in their circle of competence.  We agree and that includes, going global.  Oh, if we could only get Warren Buffett behind our service offering.  He's a great salesman.  Watch and see for yourself.

Note:  We love Warren Buffet ... check out other related posts here.

Oh How the World Loves Coca-Cola!

Photo taken at Crosby's Kitchen (Chicago) of a magnificent illustration on a brick wall outside of the restaurant showing a young man drinking Coca-Cola (looks like Norman Rockwell art).
