Laurel, I enjoyed this blog. It seems like an interesting strategy that Sprinkles Cupcakes could employ. But, how would it transform her into a global business? Yes, the internet would help her to communciation globally. But, she would still be operating and selling from Chicago.

Hi, James,

I am glad you enjoyed the "From Cupcakes to Moneycakes: 3 Ways to Increase Sales and Profitability" article published at the American Express OPEN Forum.

The article highlighted how to "attract international visitors" to your business.

My thought is, hopefully, the international visitors will return to their home country and order more of the delicious cupcakes which, in turn, will make the cupcake baker a true global business once she exports the frozen cupcakes by air via refrigerated cargo.

Further, the cupcake baker could offer consulting services to one of her international visitors who coincidentally might own a bakery in let's say, Dubai, on how to decorate the cupcakes -- which would make that a "service export."

The possibilities are endless for becoming a global business. You just need to think outside the box -- that the world is your market.

Best,
Laurel
