U.S. Exports Grew At Fastest Pace in Three Years

The value of U.S. exports of goods and services to the rest of the world increased 2.7% in July, the fastest seasonally adjusted growth in more than three years, the Commerce Department reported Tuesday.

The U.S. lost 46,000 manufacturing jobs in August 2007. More significantly, the ongoing losses are taking a cumulative toll on communities throughout the country. We need to adequately enforce our trade laws, and hold countries like China accountable for illegal trading practices such as currency manipulation. Otherwise, we’ll continue to shed manufacturing jobs.

Hi, Steven,

Can you provide us with a source on your comment regarding the loss of 46,000 manufacturing jobs in U.S. due to what you claim is the fault of China? I am just curious if other factors might play into it.

Also, who are you? Not sure if you are with media, a privately-owned business, a publicly-traded company, employed at a manufacturing company that is experiencing job loss, an economist, so forth.
