Laurel, doesn't this advice just make sense for any business, not just one operating in a country where your nation has a negative perception? In my experience, global business people are the real ambassadors for their countries. Being a good global citizen should (in theory if not in fact)improve your nation's image in the eyes of others.

Hi, Betsy,

Thanks for weighing in with your comments. And yes, you are correct. My advice is applicable to anyone, anywhere in the world. However, the main focus of my Entrepreneur magazine column was to provide a perspective on some of the challenges American businesses face.

Keep reading. Appreciate your passion.

All the best,
Laurel
