Xero’s Future Focus AI research “surveyed over 3,000 small business owners from Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Singapore, the United Kingdom and the United States on what they are thinking, feeling and doing about AI.”

The research has revealed that 80% of global small business owners are concerned AI development and adoption is “outpacing regulation, as generative AI tools permeate various industries and the workforce.”

Getting Paid Quickly Matters to Global Small Businesses

Global financial infrastructure platform Stripe and global small business platform Xero recently announced the expansion of their partnership to help small businesses worldwide get paid faster. 

Stripe and Xero are working together to build a far deeper integration of Stripe Connect into Xero’s small business platform that will enable greater convenience for customers and automate accounting for transactions.

Are U.S. Global Small Businesses Slowest to Adopt Better Technology?

According to Xero, simple changes in habits and process could prove more effective than costly educational campaigns in helping small businesses take advantage of digital technology’s benefits.

The One step study surveyed more than 4,200 small business owners in six countries (Australia, New Zealand, the UK, the US, Canada, and Singapore). Carried out in partnership with behavioural science consultancy, Decision Design, the report found that small businesses which readily adopt new technology enjoy on average 120 percent higher revenue.

SME Accounting Goes Global

Accounting software company Xero recently surpassed one million subscribers worldwide on its global cloud accounting platform.
The company has doubled subscriber numbers in less than two years and has quickly grown to become a global accounting platform leader, adding nearly 300,000 subscribers in the last year alone.

Tools You Can Use to Manage Your Global Small Business

Xero, a cloud accounting software provider, has established several new strategic partnerships, including with Dropbox, Adobe, Bigcommerce and Insightly, as it looks to offer improved business insights and simplify collaboration for small businesses and their accounting partners.

The intent is to give small businesses more choices than ever before about the tools they can use to manage all aspects of their business.

Watch for Disruption in the Global Accounting Software Space

Who hasn't heard of American software company Intuit?  They've been around since 1983 doing a great job providing easy and convenient accounting solutions to businesses of all sizes.  Now comes the disruptive part and enough that Intuit better not ignore.  It's clear that Intuit CEO Brad Smith is already on it with his recent article "Intuit's CEO on Building a Design-Driven Company," in the January/February 2015 - Harvard Business Review.

Now there's New Zealand-based software company Xero that develops 'beautiful' cloud-based accounting software for small and medium-sized businesses. The company has offices in New Zealand, Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States.

And there's accounting software company The Sage Group who just recently announced a global agreement with Salesforce.com that goes like this:
Sage has agreed to start using the Salesforce Customer Success Platform. Implementing the cloud based CRM system shows that Sage want to get close to Salesforce and get some kind of symbiotic partnership with the cloud giant. - Source:  The Sage Group Plc announces global agreement with Salesforce

Guess Who Has More Than 400,000 Global Customers?

Gosh that could be any company with almost a half a million customers but in this instance it's software developer Xero (not Xerox) that says it has more than 400,000 customers globally and is "back on track" in its key US market where it wants to take market share of an estimated 29 million small to medium sized business owners.

In 2014, Xero processed more than $250 billion worth of transactions, 95 million invoices and now holds more than a half a petabyte of data collected which covers business performance and gives insight into small business economics and trends, the Wellington-based company said in a statement.
