How do you conquer the world with your shiny new product?  Let me count the ways.  First, try some blue-sky thinking.  Next, get out your compass and develop a roadmap on where you want to go.  Lastly, ask yourself this:  Who is ______________________________ (fill in the blank with your company name); What do we stand for ______________________________________?  Does your brand stand for what your customers want to feel?

The painful truth is that it’s a big bad world of big-name brands out there. So if you’re a start-up entrepreneur with big dreams and an even bigger desire to conquer the world with your shiny, new product but without the marketing budget of the bigger international brands you need to be clear at what your brand is, what differentiates you, and what why consumers should go to you instead of the competitors. Armed with a strong brand, you’re on your way to winning big in the global marketplace.

Is it time for your SME to conquer the world?  The HP Go Global Awards doesn't want you to be a wallflower when it comes to taking your business global.  In fact, they are tooting their horn loud and clear that small business owners should not shy away from international trade opportunities because of perceived language, currency, cultural and business barriers.

That said, HP is looking to recognize SMEs that have successfully cracked the export market and support those trying to do so with their HP Go Global Award.  Entries are open until the end of July, also aim to encourage those who are looking to break into new territories.

Two overall winners will go on to receive an HP Go Global Award for Best Breakthrough Exporter of the Year and Next Breakthrough Exporter of the Year.
