Some of the big trading companies today started as small trading operations and then grew and spun off sub-divisions, and grew, and spun off sub-divisions, and until they have a company like <a href="http://www.jardines.com/" rel="nofollow">Jardines </a> or <a href="http://www.mitsui.co.jp/en/" rel="nofollow">Mitsui and Co Ltd</a>.
