Hi Laural, and happy new year to ya. So funny you posted this, as I was just thinking about this. Some of the big trading companies today started as small trading operations and then grew and spun off sub-divisions, and grew, and spun off sub-divisions, and until they have a company like Jardines or Mitsui and Co Ltd. I think the point or lesson, in large part, is that these conglomerates get big by in fact staying small, i.e. each sub-company of a conglomerate is its own independent operation.
